Principle Of Thermoforming

Secondary molding technology
The principle of Thermoforming is a secondary molding technology using thermoplastic sheets as raw materials (sheets can be extruded or calendered). Firstly, the sheet material is cut into billets of a certain size and shape. Then, the billets are clamped on the frame and heated to a softening temperature, which is a high elastic-plastic state. Then, pressure is applied to bend and extend the billets, and they are cooled to a certain shape to form an open thin shell product. In most cases, the pressure exerted on the blank during Thermoforming depends on vacuum pumping and air compression (the pressure difference formed on both sides of the blank, but various forms of mechanical pressure or hydraulic pressure can also be used.
